Happy Birthday, Free Dominion - 20 years

It was 20 years ago today that we launched Free Dominion.

It has been a ride! Some of those years were fun, most were a mix. For a couple of those years, we were completely silenced.

I don't know what the future will hold. I feel like whatever happens in the US today will determine the way the entire world goes.

If someone had told me a year ago that today our churches and most businesses would be closed, and that the government would have us in rolling lockdowns, with the US border closed for nearly a year, I don't know if I would have believed them.

When we started Free Dominion, I knew there was a chance that our country would go down the road to socialism at some point. That is one of the reasons I wanted to do something. But, never in my wildest imagination, did I think that they would take our freedom in an instant, before we had a chance to react or escape.

Mark used to write these FD birthday posts, and he always titled them "The State of the Website". He usually concluded them by saying that the state of the website was free.

We can't say that this year. Maybe we will never be able to say it again.

All I know is that I felt strongly last year, pre-COVID, that I should make this site operational again, and I did that. What, if any, role we will have in fighting our oppression remains to be seen.

But, for today, the state of the website is: standing. Under the circumstances, that isn't a bad start to 2021.
