Why didn't Black Lives Matter protests spread COVID-19? Because everyone else stayed home, study suggests

Post by Mark Fournier »

Hundreds of cities saw protests in North America earlier in the month, but it’s hard to trace even a single outbreak to the rallies. Vera Etches, Ottawa’s medical officer of health, confirmed this week that not even a single new infection could be attributed to the recent demonstration in the city.

Some experts have speculated that outdoor transmission is so rare with COVID-19 that even a highly risky event like a protest is relatively safe, especially compared to large events held indoors.

I've bee to one such gathering, last week. People mostly wore masks, and we're very well dispersed. It wasn't a standard political gathering where people can be packed like sardines, rather, there was an average of maybe 10 feet separating people. Sometimes two or three people were together.

Perhaps it is too early to see if Covid manifests itself amongst these terrorists? I can’t recall the infection to symptoms time frame.

5.5 million jobs lost to Covid but 8.5 million applications for finances. Um, shouldn't those numbers coincide?
